Engineering Colleges in the District of Dhenkanal

Traditionally Dhenkanal is considered to be a place well-known for its value for education. Its no-surprise why Dhenkanal District has done exceedingly well in Matriculation exams and has always remained in top slots (in terms of pass percentage) among all districts for a long time. This result at High School level has certainly carried over to technical education. Now, Dhenkanal district boasts of 2 Engineering colleges besides a few Diploma schools. The Engg. colleges are 1. IGIT, Sarang and 2.SIET, Dhenkanal.

1. IGIT or Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, one of the oldest Govt. Engg. colleges of Orissa, was instituted in 1982. Presently, the institute offers Bachelors degree in 6 different disciplines (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Metallurgy and Material Engineering). The institute also gives Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering. Its alumni web-page can be found here.

2. Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in 1999. Over the last 7 years, the college has developed a lot of infrastructure. For its excellence in imparting technical education of highest quality, recently AICTE accorded a special status to the college. Its only one of the 7 colleges in India to be put in the category of "Institute of Excellence". Kudos !!!

With both State and National elections another 7 months away, Dhenkanal is getting attention from Jay Panda. His Heijau  initiative is very different and far more people friendly than current leaders of this day and age who prefer to deliver speeches from podium and social media. Looking at the video of the procession, it could be gauged that the movement is gaining momentum in various towns in Odisha. Currently, BJD led by Naveen Patnaik looking at his 5th term as Chief Minister, Congress seem to be losing its 2nd position, BJP lacking fire power to deliver knock out punch, and an emergence of a new group of disgruntled Biju loyalists. For Dhenkanal Lok Sabha's seat: will Tathagata Satpathy be able to hold on to it against anti-incumbency? Will K P Singhdeo make a come back or his wards make an entry? Will there be new faces? For Dhenkanal Sadar Assembly seat: will there be a new face from BJP? will Nabin Nanda contest as independent? The coming 7 months will certain...
