There are 2 primary routes to reach Dhenkanal town from Bhubaneswar. The first one takes National Highway 16 (NH 16) from Bhubaneswar- Cuttack-Jagatpur-Manguli Chowk for a distance of ~ 60 KM. The stretch usually sees heavy truck traffic because of its prominence of NH 16 which connects two metropolitan cities Kolkata, Bengal with Chennai, Tamilnadu. At Manguli, it takes a left to NH 55 through Choudwar- Khuntuni to Dhenkanal. This passage with filled picturesque scene of trees, forests and mountains. Bus: Buses run between both cities round the clock. People traveling farther can take direct buses from Bhubaneswar to Angul, Talcher, Sambalpur, Rourkela, etc. The long distance buses (to Sambalpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda) typically run in night time and start from 7:00 PM up to 10:00 PM.
